Sheep and lambs in optimum shape

Our products for modern sheep farming

Our products for sheep and lambs impress small-scale livestock owners and sheep flock breeders with flocks varying between single sheep and up to a thousand animals.

Overview: Which particular product at which times?

You can find out which sheep and supplement feeds are important at different stages of life in the sheep and lamb feeding overview

Crystalyx Extra Energie

  • Optimises animal performance by increasing staple feed intake and digestibility while providing animals with minerals, vitamins and trace elements
  • Increases fertility and reproductive data (as flushing and mating feed)
  • Optimises body condition until the end of pregnancy to promote vitality and health in lambs
  • Reduces the risk of pregnancy toxicosis (ketosis)
  • Provides good nutrient supply to the placenta to ensure optimal birth weight and strong, healthy lambs
  • Increases milk yield for high daily growth rates in lambs

Crystalyx Extra Energy can be used as a nutritional supplement for all sheep and goats all year round. Farmers can operate a highly effective, profitable sheep breeding system with Extra Energy and staple feed thanks to a high protein content, a high energy content and plenty of minerals, vitamins and trace elements.

Flushing and mating feed:
Newcastle University and Kansas State University have demonstrated that Crystalyx® Extra Energy increases feed intake by 15% and feed digestibility by 10%. Increased energy input shortly before the mating period combined with an optimum body condition ensure regular oestrus with high ovulation rates. These are prerequisites for optimum insemination results.

Feeding during pregnancy:
the aim is to maintain ewes in top condition. Excessive deterioration in condition endangers placenta development and reduces body fat reserves for subsequent milk production. Trials by Newcastle University show that ewes can maintain their physical condition more effectively with Crystalyx® Extra Energy.

Weaning and fattening:
weaning is a stressful situation, often accompanied by a deterioration in condition in lambs. Feeding Crystalyx® Extra Energy to lambs after weaning provides all the additional nutrients they need to supplement grass and compensate for the loss of ewe’s milk . The high sugar content in Crystalyx® stimulates the rumen and increases feed intake, resulting in improved growth rates.

Recommendation for feeding:
2 x 80 kg tubs per 100 sheep; 2 x 22.5 kg tubs per 40 sheep
Always install two tubs per animal group to prevent fights to establish dominance.
Average intake: 40–60 g per sheep per day.
Available in 80 kg and 22.5 kg tubs.

Crystalyx Mentholyx

  • Nutritional physiological support of airways through essential oils
  • Yeast cell wall components promote the bonding of toxins
  • Stimulates early concentrate and staple feed intake
  • Promotes rumen development
  • Promotes occupation, thus reducing cross-licking and -sucking
  • Remedies animal-specific nutritional deficiencies after weaning off milk or in stress situations

Crystalyx Mentholyx provides nutritional physiological relief for calves and sheep in stress situations. Menthol and eucalyptus essential oils provide natural alleviation for the respiratory system.
Calves and lambs are particularly susceptible to respiratory problems as they first acquire active immunity during development. Lungs in particular are vulnerable. One reason for this is their relatively small volume in relation to body size.
The essential oils contained in Crystalyx Mentholyx help to alleviate respiratory problems and bring “fresh air” to the calf barn. Specific yeast cell wall components bind toxins in the intestine and also aid the immune system. Crystalyx Mentholyx also fosters early feed intake. The mineral and nutrient supply is thus increased directly and indirectly.

Recommendation for feeding:
2 x 5 kg tubs per 10 calves or sheep; 2 x 22.5 kg tubs per 20 older calves or sheep; 2 x 50 kg tubs per 50 calves or sheep
Always install two tubs per animal group to prevent fights to establish dominance.
Average consumption:
10–20 g per lamb per day; 30–40 g per calf per day; 30–40 g per sheep per day; 80–100 g per older calf per day
Available in 5 kg, 22.5 kg and 50 kg tubs.

Crystalyx Organyx Garlic

  • Can be used in ecological production according to Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and (EC) 889/2008
  • Optimises animal performance by increasing staple feed intake and digestibility while providing animals with all necessary minerals and trace elements
  • Assists natural defence against flying insects
  • Contains garlic components (natural repellent). After intake, cattle emit the smell of garlic. This acts as a repellent to insects.
  • Reduces restless, nervous state caused by flying insects
  • Helps to compensate for natural deviations in quality in staple feed and in the field

Crystalyx Organyx Garlic is primarily used to increase staple feed intake and digestibility while providing animals with all necessary minerals and trace elements.
It also helps to repel flying insects. Crystalyx Organyx Garlic contains garlic components. After intake, the sulphur-containing substances in garlic (allicin) are secreted via the main pores. This substance, which produces the aroma of fresh garlic, has a repellent effect on flying insects.
Grazing animals are attacked by mosquitoes and other stinging insects, particularly during the summer months. This causes them to become nervous and restless as they spend all their time trying to get rid of these annoying pests. This diminishes animal well-being and feed intake decreases. Milk yield and growth rates decline as a consequence. What’s more, flying insects also transmit pathogens. Midges, for example, are carriers of mastitis pathogens and viral diseases such as blue tongue.
* Note: Contains garlic components. A negative effect on the taste and smell of milk and meat cannot be excluded. Do not feed to lactating animals (commercial milk) to be on the safe side. Cease feeding product to fattening animals four weeks before slaughter.

Crystalyx Organyx Plus

  • Can be used in ecological production according to Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and (EC) 889/2008
  • Optimises animal performance by increasing staple feed intake and digestibility while providing animals with all necessary minerals and trace elements
  • Helps in balancing the natural quality deviations in the staple feed and the field
  • Promotes the physiological metabolic processes in stress situations, such as those caused by energy deficiency or fluctuations in the pH value in the rumen

Crystalyx Organyx Plus increases staple feed intake and digestibility while providing animals with all necessary minerals and trace elements. It is designed as an all-round product for sheep, goats and cattle.
Organic livestock farms in particular rely on supplying the farm’s own feedstuff to animals as far as possible. This requires the maximum possible staple feed efficiency.
Crystalyx Organyx Plus allows the animal to absorb more staple feed, which has a positive effect on the rumen metabolism with a moderate use of concentrated feed. If fermentation and nutrient intake meet requirements, then animal health and yield will too.
