Fusarium tolerance
Fusarium infestation and a resulting mycotoxin formation are playing an increasing role in corn maize cultivation. This has been demonstrated by investigations over many years at the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture. Fusarium infection has increased overall as a result of expanded maize cultivation and low host specificity of the fusarium pathogens (maize, grain, grasses). At the same time, the development of Fusarium graminearum and the toxin formation are very dependent on the weather.
