Festulolium

festulolium

Festulolium is a very young grass due to its initial entry in the variety register during the nineties.
Originally it was defined as a cross between the varieties smooth stalk meadow grass (Festuca pratensis) and Welsh ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). In the current version, festulolium represents a hybrid from the crossing of the Festuca variety with Lolium.
It is used in mowed pastures as well as the perennial feed crop production, hereby often as mixing partner for clover and alfalfa. In addition to these purposes, festulolium is also used in selected Plantinum mixtures.
