German ryegrass is a high-yield and extensively robust grass in grazing as well as pasture usage which can be used in almost any type of pastures. A long growth period, excellent taste and high yields are just some of its advantages. It is also suitable for grazing and frequent cutting.
Its original and still today most important significance lies in the usage as grazing grass and the production of hey and silage. It is usually cultivated in mixtures with other grasses as well as clover. The German ryegrass is extremely impact resistant and regenerates fast, which makes it well suited for durable grass surfaces. The preference to use German ryegrass in pasture mixtures is also due to the classification in the maturity groups early, mid and late as well as the suitability for boggy locations.
