Mechanical engineering students visit biogas plant in Dorsten
Energy technology was the topic on the agenda for mechanical engineering students from Bochum University of Applied Sciences: 15 participants visited the TerraSol Wirtschaftsdünger GmbH biogas plant in Dorsten. The joint venture between AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG and ODAS GmbH implements an innovative concept with regard to nutrient management.

The plant is largely operated with between 70 and 80 per cent of farm manure in the form of manure and dung, and only a small proportion comes from energy crops. This heavily processed region in the southern Münsterland area is relieved of superfluous farm manure.
Hendrik Eping, energy advisor for Veravis GmbH, a subsidiary of AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, showed students from the Bochum University of Applied Sciences around the biogas plant in Dorsten and was available for any questions. The event took place as part of a series of excursions in the energy technology course from the Bochum University of Applied Sciences designed to give students an insight into practical aspects.
