Petrol station service: everything from one single source
Sturdy pumps, an efficient car wash and an appealing shop – the planning and construction of a new petrol station depends on a great many factors. As a full-service provider, AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG is involved in all aspects of projects, from the planning through to implementation, with its petrol station and construction divisions. Around 18 months ago, Kraichgau Raiffeisen Zentrum eG, which is active in the north-west of Baden-Württemberg, sought a general contractor for the construction of a new petrol station in Bad Rappenau and found just what they were looking for in the AGRAVIS construction service .

"Our aim was to award the project to a company from the cooperative association," explains Christian Lutz, Authorised Representative of the Kraichgau Raiffeisen Zentrum . "We also wanted all services to be provided from one single source. With AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, we rapidly found just the right partner." Thomas Erkert from the AGRAVIS petrol station service team supported the major project through to the petrol station's opening. The 51-year-old previously managed a number of petrol stations himself and knows what is important in the practical business.
Thomas Erkert and Project Manager Daniel Müller from the AGRAVIS construction service planned the entire project and ensured the client's requirements were accommodated. From drafting of the construction measures and technical features through to the shop design and advertising, every aspect was examined. Once the plans were completed, implementation began.
Eight petrol pumps were installed on the 1,300 m² site offering diesel and petrol, LPG and AdBlue for cars and lorries. With lanes of six metres in width, there is also plenty of space for larger vehicles. The modern gantry car wash offering four programmes ensures sparkling-clean vehicles in just four to seven minutes. Two high-performance vacuum cleaners are available to clean vehicle interiors. A classic range comprising drinks, confectionery, food and drugstore items is offered in the light and welcoming shop. The bistro invites motorists to stop off for a coffee and snack.
All involved in the project are particularly proud of the appealing shop with bistro. The retail space and lounge area are separated from one another optically with a room divider and different flooring. The atmosphere is light and inviting. Customers are able to choose from speciality coffees, cold drinks and different snacks. "The petrol station shop is a unique selling point for the Kraichgau Raiffeisen Zentrum," Erkert emphasises. "There is nothing else like it in the area." Christian Lutz adds: "The range is well received by our customers. Particularly coffee and snacks to take away are already big sellers."
The grand opening was recently celebrated and marked the celebratory conclusion of the project in Bad Rappenau. Thomas Erkert is already busy with his next major project with Raiffeisen Lippe-Weser AG in Rinteln. Besides the complete project support for new construction work, the Lower Saxony native is also the main contact for smaller-scale expansion and modernisation projects for the cooperative petrol station operators. Every year, Erkert travels around 65,000 kilometres on Germany's roads to advise the cooperatives and supervise projects. "The petrol station service has a great many facets and brings one or more new challenges and surprises every day," smiles Erkert. "It makes the work very interesting."
