Fabian Ertel is transferring from AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG to the Livisto Group, which is also part of this corporation. The 40-year-old will take up post as co-CEO of the internationally operating animal health company on 1 February 2021, joining Armin Thur at the head of the Livisto Group. Mr Thur, who has successfully led the company for 18 years, is retiring on 30 June 2022.

Fabian Ertel has previously worked in a range of roles at Bertelsmann SE & Co KGaA and Boston Consulting Group GmbH. Since 2019 he has served as Head of Corporate Development at AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG reporting directly to board member Hermann Hesseler, who is also responsible for animal health within the AGRAVIS Group. “Fabian Ertel has many years of corporate experience, understands national and international market development and is able to quickly familiarise himself with complex facts and corporate structures, as he has proven in various projects at AGRAVIS. We believe that he is the ideal successor to Armin Thur, who has expanded the company into an international animal health corporation in recent years”, explains Hesseler. “By setting this course early on, we are clearly signalling our intention to continuously develop the Livisto Group – while maintaining close ties with our parent corporation.”

Further strategic and organisational development measures will see Kay Dorgeloh take on additional responsibilities. In collaboration with Armin Thur and Fabian Ertel, Kay Dorgeloh, who has been working for the Livisto Group for 18 years and held a range of management roles, will develop the company, expand its market share and step up its international operations.

“I look forward to this challenge with interest and great pleasure, but I am also aware of the significant responsibility it entails”, says Fabian Ertel. “Livisto stands on a solid economic foundation and is on track for growth – that is the work of Armin Thur. I am very much looking forward to collaborating with him and Kay Dorgeloh to shape the company’s future.”

The Livisto Group

The Livisto Group is one of the world’s twenty largest corporations in the veterinary sector, employing around 540 people in 13 companies and producing veterinary pharmaceuticals at six locations in Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and El Salvador. The Livisto Group also has distribution companies in Poland, Russia, Panama and the Dominican Republic and sells its products in over 100 countries. Livisto has been a full subsidiary of the AGRAVIS Group since 2010.

Frank Newels will take over Controlling & Corporate Development division at AGRAVIS

When he takes on his new responsibilities at Livisto, Fabian Ertel’s previous duties within AGRAVIS will pass to Frank Newels. The Controlling and Process Management division and the Corporate Development division will be merged into a single unit.
This intensifies further their current close collaboration and placing the two divisions under the same leadership. The teams currently making up the Corporate Development division – specifically “Strategy”, “Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)” and “Project Management Office (PMO)” – will be retained and continue their successful work within the new corporate division. “On the one hand, this step represents an investment in operative excellence, as it means we are streamlining our structures and combining fields of work in a constructive way. On the other hand, it allows us to utilise the expertise already present within the AGRAVIS Group to find the best candidates for certain positions”, explains Hermann Hesseler in closing.
