Crystalyx with yeast cell wall components
In a Crystalyx test, the lick for dry cows was supplemented by the addition of specific cell wall components. The result: the supplement feed Crystalyx Trockensteher LIN was proven to have a positive effect on the calving behaviour of heifers. For the test by Agrargesellschaft Ruppendorf AG (Klingenberg/Saxony), 150 pregnant heifers were divided into two groups. Under otherwise identical rearing and feeding conditions, the heifers were given two different formulas of Crystalyx Trockensteher during the last six weeks of their pregnancy. While the control group (78 cows) received the traditional formula, the second test group (72 cows) was given a Crystalyx formula with specific yeast cell wall components.
The first test results verify a reduction in the rates of difficult births and stillbirths in the test group. The share of difficult births in the test group was reduced by about 18 per cent. The number of stillbirths in the test group was even cut in half at 8.3 per cent.
Crystalyx boosts the immune system
Based on the results and numerous practical experiences, a new product with yeast cell wall components is now available in the form of Crystalyx Trockensteher LIN. These specific yeast cell wall components contain mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS), which have a positive effect on the immune system. In another Crystalyx study, it was possible to prove higher amounts of immunoglobulins in the colostrum of sheep by using yeast cell wall components. Additionally, Crystalyx Trockensteher LIN contains linseed oil. Linseed oil has a high amount of omega-3 fatty acids and has a positive effect on a number of health parameters.
