A key topic of the AGRAVIS sustainability strategy is the sustainable procurement of raw materials and merchandise. The aim is to comprehensively evaluate the AGRAVIS Group's supply chains and continuously check suppliers for compliance with all relevant requirements. This enables us to initiate measures to minimise negative impacts on the environment along the supply chain, promote fair working conditions and create long-term economic benefits for all parties involved.This and all other important terms can be found in the glossary
A central component of our "Sustainable Procurement System" is the consistent focus on social sustainability along the entire supply chain. We focus on specific measures to ensure both human rights and environmental standards - not only in our own business, but also with our partners and suppliers. In this context, we ensure that the requirements of the German Supply Chain Sustainability Act (LkSG) are fully taken into account and integrated.
Annual ESG screening
That is why we have ourselves assessed annually by EcoVadis. The independent ESG screening enables us to objectively review and continuously improve our environmental and social performance as well as our corporate governance. Ecovadis also offers external expertise in the risk assessment of suppliers and our own business activities. This not only allows us to derive measures in relation to our own business activities, but also to develop joint objectives and strategies with partners along the supply chain.
AGRAVIS is committed to its responsibility towards people, animals and the environment. Recognising that its diverse business activities and global supply and value chains can have an impact on human rights, the company places a clear focus on human rights due diligence processes. The breadth of AGRAVIS's business activities is reflected in the range of suppliers in different supply chains. Such a heterogeneous supplier structure requires a targeted and comprehensive strategy for respecting human rights in the context of sustainable procurement. AGRAVIS aims to strengthen compliance with human rights and environmental obligations in this multi-faceted supply chain and to prevent violations.
We see the implementation of human rights due diligence as a binding and continuous development process. The effectiveness of the measures taken is analysed annually and on an ad hoc basis in order to be able to react immediately to current changes.

AGRAVIS Code of Conduct and in the DLG podcast episode .We have maintained a close relationship with Coamo, the largest cooperative in southern Brazil, for many years. This enables us to sustainably secure the supply of soybean meal for our mixed feed plants. Farmers in Brazil have been cultivating their fields for over 50 years, initially with wheat and later with soy and corn. Their farmland is located over 1,000 kilometres from the Amazon region.
Compliance with legal requirements
We comply with the requirements of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and, with regard to deforestation, the requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). In collaboration with Coamo, we have developed a monitoring system based on satellite images. This enables us to analyse the cultivation systems of each farm. As a result, we can trace our soy extraction meal from the mixed feed plant to the ports and oil mills and back to the farm.
Until the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) comes into force, we will use the QS-additional module "QS-Sojaplus" or equivalent internationally recognised standards. All compound feed delivered is "QS-Sojaplus" compliant. QS-Sojaplus has been in force since 1 January 2024 and regulates the sustainable use of soy in feed. This private-sector standard is based on the FEFAC Soy Sourcing Guideline and QS-specific criteria, which include the exclusion of deforestation and compliance with labour and social standards. Once the EUDR comes into force, we will work in accordance with the new EU regulations.
Soy imports and social responsibility
Last year, AGRAVIS processed around 260,000 tonnes of soybean meal for feed production in its mixed feed plants, some of which are operated with its cooperative partners. As a feed manufacturer, we are dependent on importing protein-rich feed such as soybean meal. In addition to being deforestation-free, social aspects are very important to us. Coamo guarantees responsible treatment of farmers, employees and the local population, as well as the conscientious use of plant protection products. In order to fulfil our duty of care, we regularly check and document the origin of our raw materials, implement measures to minimise risk and regularly review social and environmental standards on site.
We are aware of our responsibility towards the environment, our customers, farmers, suppliers and other stakeholders. Through our long-standing partnership with Coamo and our strict monitoring and traceability systems, we ensure that our supply chain is sustainable and responsible. We remain committed to sustainability and compliance with legal regulations.
