IQ-Plant: The crop farming app
PRO version now with improved functions
|The free IQ-Plant app provides the user with current crop farming recommendations and warnings from their region for all significant cultures. In addition, over 900 contact partners from local Raiffeisen cooperatives and crop farming advisers from AGRAVIS can be reached via the IQ-Plant app. |
Since the beginning of March 2016 IQ-Plant has also provided a 3-day fertilising weather forecast as well as extended product information that is tailored to the individual location.
The app has been available as a download for Android and iOS since the beginning of March 2016.
Wind, air humidity, temperature, and precipitation should not fall below or be above specific threshold values for optimal plant protection application: Based on regional weather forecasts for your location a suitable time can be found down to the hour, up to 3 days in advance, with the IQ-Plant fertilising weather! This means you take full advantage of the effects of a measure and avoid damage to the culture.
Current growing itineraries from AGRAVIS crop farming advisers for your selected cultures: You receive recommendations on variety choice, fertiliser, plant protection, and use of technology based on comprehensive tests and experience in day-to-day consulting practice. Concise texts and clear charts and photos mean the tips are clearly presented on your smartphone.
Never miss a date: Important national cultivation times and events featuring your local Raiffeisen cooperatives such as, e.g. events organised by your local cooperative are sent to your smartphone and then appear in your personal calendar with a click.
Product details on the recommendations: Obtain further information on recommended products such as, e.g. active ingredients, resistance classes, and range of effects on weeds and fungal infections. In addition, you also receive seed rate recommendations and estimates on the agronomic properties of the variety.
Take note and favour your reports: Benefit from the option of being able to set particularly important notifications to a reminder list. Using the "thumbs up" option lets us know which report was especially helpful.
Crop farming app IQ-Plant will be expanded to become IQ-Plant PRO
"When do I have to start with my plant protection sprayer?", "What is the right type of wheat for my location?", "Are pollen beetles currently prevalent and what product can control these quickly and effectively?" The entrepreneurial farmer of today is confronted with a wide range of topics and questions in the course of his day-to-day business. For day-to-day decisions faster and competent decision-making support is required, and ideally it is available anywhere – at the kitchen table, in a stall, or on the field.
To fulfil all these wishes, AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG brought its free crop farming plant "IQ-Plant" onto the market at the beginning of 2013. In the meantime more than 26,000 users benefit from current agricultural recommendations that they receive directly on their smartphone. "This means you have all important tips and information you need, classified depending on individual cultures" said Astrid Manns. However, the AGRAVIS experts do not want to rest on their laurels with the success of the app. In line with the motto "good things can be improved on" a revised and further-developed version of "IQ-Plant" is available for download on Android and iOS just in time for the start of the 2016 cultivation season.
"The previous range of functions remains freely available to all users, but with a new look. The app has significant added value due to more features such as a reminder list", explained Astrid Manns. Furthermore, further free functions can be activated simply by registering. Under the name "IQ-Plant PRO" valuable information on pesticides , varieties and fertilisers can be called up from the app and the crop farming recommendations, so that, for example, the effects of herbicides or properties of a variety can be assessed more accurately.
However, the fertilising weather is the core feature of the PRO version: Depending on temperature, air humidity, precipitation, and wind speed, the app uses a clear traffic light system to show the time of day during which plant protection application would best take place. "The basis for this decision-making model is created by the fundamental values stored by the crop farming consultancy experts at AGRAVIS. The farmer can therefore plan and optimise his work in the field up to three days in advance. The new version of the "IQ-Plant" app promises to be an ideal companion for the farmer interested in agriculture – even more so than the current version.
