Alexander Nordhoff wins "Elbers-Cup" race
Praise came from a qualified source: "I used to ride along the Marktallee as a kid. It's great that the race has been revived," explained the multiple scratch race world champion Lucas Liss. Despite the Unna man not ultimately achieving the pole position, the Hiltrup traditional race "Elbers-Cup – 88 mal um die Marktallee” (Elbers Cup – 88 times around Marktallee), held for the second time on Friday evening, was still a resounding success.

- The winners of the main race of the "Elbers-Cup" 2017 (l. to r.): Dennis Klemme (Stevens Racing Team), winner Alexander Nordhoff (Team Kern-Haus) and Vladi Riha (VC Vegesack).
A year ago, Theodor Elbers GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, and the Münster bicycle sports club revived the cycle race in Hiltrup and became its organisers. In 2017, exactly 30 years after it was first held, the 4,000 spectators experienced a cycling event of the highest calibre, according to the organisers. The youngest were cheered on with lots of applause in two kids' races. The pace hotted up with the U17 race, won by Hannes Wulfert of RSC Werne.
