Wolfgang Diedrich, Managing Director of AGRAVIS Technik Heide-Altmark GmbH, voiced his satisfaction with the awards on Friday evening: “We are delighted!” The industry award is very important in the farm machinery trade, as it is given by an independent and objective jury in recognition of continuing efforts to provide optimum service for all customers. Diedrich stressed that the significance of efficient service as a decisive competitive factor was growing all the time. The AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG Technik sites had an increasingly important role as the interface between industry and consumer, he said.
In their bids to win the Agrartechnik Service Award, the subsidiaries each present their own service concept. This is a real labour of love which involves completing a checklist of around 450 questions covering all aspects of the company. “Though the questions are often only one sentence, it can take one or two pages to answer them,” says Jörg Denekas, who was responsible for compiling the applications for AGRAVIS Technik Heide-Altmark GmbH. Along with the statements the participants submit themselves with supporting documentation, a panel of three judges – Franz-Josef Borgmann, honorary president of the LandBau Technik federal association of trades and commerce, and Johannes Hädicke and Frederik Masur, editors at the Agrartechnik trade journal – selects the five best applications and narrows them down to the four eventual national winners.
“The award encourages us to continue investing extensively in staff training, maintaining modern, highly effective locations and our comprehensive range of services aligned to customer demand,”said Gerd Schulz, Managing Director of AGRAVIS Technik Holding GmbH, on the occasion of the award ceremony. The Stendal site, for example, had been the subject of a €2 million modernisation programme which saw the addition of a new workshop hall and a new building with sales rooms and staff social rooms.
Another successful entrant was Technik Center Alpen GmbH, an associated company of AGRAVIS. It won the western region award with its subsidiary in Alpen.
The Agrartechnik Service Award was inaugurated in 2001 by the trade journal Agrartechnik (published by Landwirtschaftsverlag) and is awarded on an annual basis. The award is a prestigious prize in the industry and encourages farm machinery specialists throughout Germany to examine and improve their customer services on an ongoing basis. The competition picks out the best-performing farm machinery company and is the only market test of its kind in Europe which is manufacturer-independent.
