Adjust mineral feed

By providing the mineral feed with free amino acids as required, protein components such as soya or rapeseed meal can be saved in the feed. This targeted reduction in protein sources is made possible, among other things, by taking eight digestible amino acids into account when calculating the ration. At the same time, the proportion of farm-grown grain in the rations can be increased accordingly. These reformulations result in more net energy in the feed. At the same time, nutrient-optimised feeding leads to a noticeable relief of the animal's metabolism, because an oversupply of protein in the animals (luxury consumption) is avoided and the energy-consuming excretion of protein nitrogen via faeces and urine is minimised.

Needs-based supply of amino acids

The needs-based supply of amino acids to pigs results in further advantages, which are summarised by the German Agricultural Society (DLG):


  • up to 30 per cent less nitrogen discharged into the environment from pig farming,
  • Improved stable climate
  • Up to 10 per cent feed cost savings with lower feed expenditure due to savings on protein feeds
  • Up to 10 per cent less slurry
  • Stabilisation of animal health

The efficient phytase content in the mineral feeds optimises the digestion of phytin-bound phosphorus from plant-based feedstuffs and makes it possible to save on mineral phosphorus sources such as monocalcium phosphate in the recipes. Accordingly, the DLG specifications for highly N- and P-reduced feeding can be easily complied with. This will become increasingly important in farm-specific nutrient balancing on farms following the amendment of the Fertiliser Ordinance.

Optimal fibre supply



In terms of their application rates, the new mineral feed varieties are available as three and five per cent sensor mineral feeds. One advantage of the sensor mineral feeds is the higher dosing accuracy in small quantities, such as in piglet sensor feeding. Due to their fibre content, the varieties are also particularly suitable for rations that contain a high proportion of the farm's own heavy grain.

At the same time, the nutrient-optimised feed noticeably relieves the animal's metabolism.
