Fly control must be carried out at the right time. Flies feel more comfortable the warmer it is. In spring and summer, they can reproduce almost explosively. Theoretically, a single pair of flies can produce a million offspring in a month under the right conditions. Flies transmit diseases and cause unrest in the stable. It is therefore best to combat them in the first warm days of spring. Start treatment as soon as you see larvae in the manure.

Insects often colonise hollow walls and pen partitions or stall equipment enclosed with U-profiles. They are difficult to reach when cleaning. Therefore, avoid such hiding places when building new stables and renovating existing ones so that the flies cannot breed there undisturbed.
