- A Turkish delegation of 12 ministry and association representatives visited the AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG distribution centre.
The Deutsche Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisenverband e.V. had organised the tour. In addition to AGRAVIS, the visitors attended the federation of cooperatives in Rastede, a dairy cooperative, and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Berlin.
Christian Bimberg, head of cooperatives and shareholders at AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, welcomed the guests and explained to the Turkish visitors how AGRAVIS works and what the agricultural trade business in Germany looks like. The delegation was especially interested in the basic spirit of the cooperative and organisational structure of the company, as well as future topics such as NetFarming. During a tour through the distribution centre, they learned how goods are taken in, picked and shipped. In the distribution centre AGRAVIS picks 1.2 million items annually for delivery to the regional Raiffeisen Markets.
