He advised farmers to take advantage of regional marketing opportunities (“Local products are in demand”), but to also take a look at the global grain markets. AGRAVIS is a powerful partner for farmers in this respect. “The Westphalian farmers are highly trained. They are competitive and know how the markets operate,” he said as he commended the know-how and expertise of the companies. He was convinced that farmers will find sustainable ways to still be able to market their products in 10 or 20 years time. Additionally, Schulte-Althoff sees the prospects for young farmers as positive. Healthy food must also be produced for a growing world population in the future.

Agrarunternehmertage (Farmer and Agricultural Contractor Convention) in Münster until Friday evening

The agricultural industry is meeting in Münsterland for the Agrarunternehmertage until 10 February 2017. The regional trade fair for agricultural production, trade and management takes place in Münster. As a full-liner in the feedstuff, special feed and animal hygiene sector and a reliable partner for professional crop cultivation, AGRAVIS will of course be exhibiting at the fair – and will be impossible to overlook. Together with cooperatives from the region, the company will be presenting itself at a stand (2101) located in the Great Hall and measuring over 600 square metres. Farmers and trade visitors will have the opportunity to discuss the latest trends and developments in pig fattening, in dairy and beef cattle farming, in poultry farming and egg production with AGRAVIS production consultants and experts from the cooperatives.
