AGRAVIS gives an early Christmas present
If two Technik companies within the AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG decide to do something good together, then you get a pretty penny. The Managing Directors of AGRAVIS Technik Saltenbrock GmbH and AGRAVIS Technik Lenne-Lippe GmbH, Wilhelm Jürgens and Friedbert Vollmers, just handed over a cheque for 5,000 euro to the support association of the Freckenhorster Werkstätten. This early present was handed over in person by the two Managing Directors before Christmas, which everyone involved was very pleased about.

"We decided many years ago to use our budget allocated for the many calendars and other small tokens of appreciation on free funding for charitable organisations and projects instead," explains Wilhelm Jürgens. This year the Freckenhorster Werkstätten were chosen. "We are convinced by the work of the Freckenhorster Werkstätten. They combine the integration of disabled people into the labour market with economic thinking and action. Such work, we find, deserves our support," stress both Technik Managing Directors.
The Freckenhorster Werkstätten GmbH, founded in 1974, employs 1,500 people with disabilities; furthermore, there are 350 employees who are not disabled. The workshops have nine branches located in the Warendorf district.
"As a support association, we want to further enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities in the workshops. As well as riding therapy, we offer computer courses and opportunities for sporting activities," explains the 1st chairperson of the support association of the Freckenhorster Werkstätten, the former head of the Warendorf district authority, Franz-Josef Harbaum. Investments in, for example, a new horse, an awning and training and education are planned for 2017.
