Successful AGRAVIS university marketing: the race for the brightest minds
Young and good junior staff will become scarce in the future, that much is true. Every year the best universities with agricultural science faculties are marked up in the top agrarian university ranking. Over 4,000 students grade the quality of the teaching, the exchange with the lecturers, how well the study rooms are equipped, as well as the practical relevance and the structure of study. This year, the Rendsburg and Göttingen sites of Kiel University were at the top – universities with which AGRAVIS collaborates.

- AGRAVIS presents itself as an attractive employer for junior staff at many job and career fairs and at universities.
"We set up a booth at career events or attend lectures on site, present AGRAVIS as an employer and talk about entry opportunities for students and graduates. This has allowed us to recruit several fitting candidates," explained Eva Sebbel, Personnel Marketing Advisor at AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG.
The "Y Generation" is different and has particular demands. That is an important point when presenting AGRAVIS as an employer. "Personal contact is still very important. Students can ask us their questions. However, social networks are also becoming increasingly more important," emphasised Eva Sebbel. AGRAVIS primarily uses the business platforms Xing and LinkedIn to approach potential specialist and junior staff. Facebook is particularly suited to providing pupils and students with an insight into the company.
As a major employer, AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG offers versatile training opportunities. The AGRAVIS Group employs more than 6,000 people, of whom 556 are currently trainees. This equates to a trainee quota of approximately 9%. The range of training opportunities offered by the second largest agricultural trade company in Germany is diverse, covering jobs in business administration, in technical fields and chemical and pharmaceutical professions, right through to dual degree courses. There are 16 training courses to choose from in all. A training website featuring all of the important information in addition to an image film developed in cooperation with trainees supports the targeted addressing of schoolchildren.
