New Raiffeisen experience world planned in Emsdetten
"Those wishing to survive in today's retail landscape must start with a convincing profile, fitting range and consistent customer orientation," emphasises Christoph Kempkes, Member of the Managing Board at AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Raiffeisen store in Emsdetten at the start of December. "We live and breathe customer proximity" is the successful motto with a regional orientation implemented in an exemplary manner at the new Raiffeisen store in Emsdetten.

The new store is a joint project of AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG and Raiffeisen Bever-Ems eG, who will run the store together within the newly-established jointed venture, Raiffeisen-Markt Emsdetten GmbH. Jörg Stottrop from Emsdetten is the owner and investor. A model store and reference for Raiffeisen stores is planned with a shop design and range concept developed according to modern principles. The creation of experience worlds combined with an individual customer orientation – these two challenges of modern retail are to be implemented in a professional manner at the Raiffeisen store in Emsdetten. The shop design will focus on emotionalisation. "The strengths of the cooperatives and Raiffeisen stores will be emphasised according to the motto of 'We live and breathe customer proximity': the reflection on the rural roots and local products. Local ties, the range's top quality and first-rate advice are our trumps," explains Thomas Wiesner, Manager of the AGRAVIS Stores division.
A site of around 6,000 m² in size is available at Grevener Damm 93 in Emsdetten. "A modern retail venue will be established here in the coming months," describes Martin Walbelder, Managing Director of Raiffeisen Bever-Ems eG. In the coming year, product ranges for pets, fish, horse riding, gardening and functional clothing will be showcased here on a retail space of around 3,500 m². The store is due to open in spring 2016.
The store concept developed by Terres Marketing + Consulting GmbH, a subsidiary of AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, will be implemented for the interior design and store layout. As the system headquarters, Terres Marketing + Consulting Systemzentrale offers a holistic retail concept for Raiffeisen stores and is the franchiser for the Raiffeisen store in Emsdetten.
"Customer orientation is a key concept in future-oriented retail and this will also be emphasised at the new location," assert Jörg Mohr and Stefan Chmura, the Managing Directors of Raiffeisen-Markt Emsdetten GmbH. "Emsdetten can look forward to a modern location that will fill a gap in the local retail market." What's more, the Raiffeisen store will offer customers a wide range of services.
Store manager Ursula Schippmann and her 20 employees believe professional expertise and top-quality advice in all product areas are very important. For the team, the motto of "We live and breathe customer proximity" is not merely a slogan. The employees come from the region and are familiar with their customers' situation.
The Stores division at AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG has contributed to the company's overall success for years now with ever-growing turnover – and this despite the increasingly difficult conditions. "For us, this is a sign that the concepts, market presence and our proximity to rural areas are popular among our customers," explains Thomas Wiesner at the groundbreaking ceremony in Emsdetten. Overall, the AGRAVIS stores division supports over 650 Raiffeisen stores within the AGRAVIS division in the fields of product development, purchasing coordination, location development, marketing, market research, and further and advanced training. The AGRAVIS Group also operates around 50 of its own Raiffeisen stores.
Raiffeisen Bever-Ems eG operates a comprehensive agricultural business with a focus on animal feed in addition to six of its own Raiffeisen stores. In 2014, it generated turnover totalling € 81.6 million.
