The Newtec Group that is part of the AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG is strengthening its market position in the regional agricultural technology trade. They will immediately take over the sites in Schmölln (Thuringia), Lichtenau and Grimma (both in Saxony) from the insolvent Otema Group. The Federal Cartel Office has just recently agreed to the takeover.

An agreement was already reached with the insolvency administrator, Joachim Voigt-Salus, at the beginning of September for transfer of the three locations. 61 agricultural technology employees from the Otema Group are being taken on.
"It offers us the opportunity to further expand our sales area for New Holland agricultural machines and to reach new customers", explained Jürgen Schneider, director of the Newtec Group. The company is one of the largest New Holland traders in Europe.
Newtec is expecting an additional turnover volume of 25 million Euros per year from the integration of the previous Otema sites. The previous Otema operating sites touch the Newtec Group's field of activity to the south east.
The Newtec Group is a high-performance supplier of agricultural technology in Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg, Berlin, North Hesse, Saxony and northern Thuringia. In future, it will maintain more than 20 locations and will then employ around 500 employees. The cooperation with partner retailers secures a nationwide network with short paths for the customers. Apart from the sales of new and used agricultural machines, a comprehensive and fast service is part of the Newtec Group's range of products and services.
