AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG invests in Bockenem business park
AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG is investing in the Bockenem business park: Three subsidiaries of the Group will in future be represented at the attractive location on a site totalling more than 40,000 square metres.

AGRAVIS Niedersachsen-Süd GmbH had already moved into its new premises in the Bockenem business park at Walter-Althoff-Strasse in 2012. Two more companies are now joining it: AGRAVIS Technik Raiffeisen GmbH and Holzhandlung Gundelach GmbH have also acquired properties and want to make the Bockenem business park their home. Overall, the planned investments total around Euro 10 million.
"The Bockenem business park is an ideal location for us, as it has good connections to the A7 autobahn. Moreover, the properties are ideal for us in terms of size and location," is how Dr. Clemens Grosse Frie, Chairman of AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, explains the extensive investments, which on one hand strengthen the regional economic location of Bockenem, and on the other also underline the customer closeness of AGRAVIS and the regional connection with the agricultural trade and service group.
Detasils of the investments and locations
The property in the business park will replace the current AGRAVIS Technik Raiffeisen GmbH site on Karl-Heinz-Bädje-Strasse in Bockenem. The newly acquired site offers more space and takes into account in particular to the growing agricultural machinery and devices. AGRAVIS Technik has a total of around 13,000 square metres available in the business park. The new building will be fitted with premsies for sales of new and used agricultural technology, as well as of small devices for farms and gardens. With workshop, spare parts store and garage, including a tyre service fir cars and commercial vehicles, around 2,400 square metres of space are planned. Overall, the company is planning to invest a good Euro 2 million. The known 16 employees in the Bockenemer branch will work at the new site. The new branch is expected to be open in mid-2016.
Modern wood retail
Holzhandlung Gundelach GmbH will build a modern wood retailers on its 18,000 sq.m. site. With the new building, the company, which has belonged to AGRAVIS since 1997, takes into account the increasing demand for dry timber. A closed, planned storage space, built according to the latest fore safety requirements, of more than 5,700 square metres is being built, which is fitted sophisticated logistics and facilitates optimum goods distribution.
As a wholesaler and importer, Gundelach specialises in cut and construction timber. All timbers required for construciton material retailers and their customers are stored in the usual cross-sections and lengths. "Consequerntly, we are able to supply our customers at all times, even at short notice, with any desired size," highlights Grosse Frie. A special assortment is in stock for professional customers such as roofers and carpenters, which includes the connection parts and fastenings required for timber construction, as well as the tools. Bath impregnation is also offered as a special service.
For private customers, there is an extensive range from traditional construction timber, to wood for the garden, to wood processing for example ironmongery and small machinery. A rental trailer is also available for the customer's transport.
The construction work in the Bockenem business park has already started – the opening is planned for late 2015. With the investment, the company is further expanding its position as one of the leading timber wholesalers in Lower Saxony, adds Grosse Frie.
New location is more modern, bigger and more efficient
AGRAVIS Niedersachen-Süd GmbH has invested Euro 3.5 million in the new site in Bockenem. With the workshop that opened in summer 2012, the agricultural company further expanded its customer service. "The new location – with a total of five employees and one apprentice – is more modern, bigger and more efficient. For our customers, this means better support, better availability and faster action," explains Rainer Widdel, who together with Alexander Nergonewitsch is a director of AGRAVIS Niedersachsen-Süd GmbH.
The construction work in the Bockenem business park on the A7 started in September 2011 on the new fertiliser and crop protection and grain warehouses. A total more than 10,000 sq.m. is being developed. With the investment, AGRAVIS Niedersachsen-Süd GmbH has adapted to the changing structures in agriculture and has optimised it services.
A central component of the workshop is a grain warehouse with a capacity of up to 7,500 tonnes and an hourly incoming capacity of at least 250 tonnes. Furthermore, apart from the plant protection warehouse and a warehouse with a capacity of 3,000 tonnes for corned fertilisers, a 1,500 square metre transshipment area has been built. A liquid fertiliser store with key system gives customers 24-hour service with self-service.
