Just over 100 days after starting up, the range of goods in the online shop raiffeisenmarkt.deis constantly growing. "We include about 1,000 new articles in our portfolio every month", says Christoph Roer-Link, Managing Director of Raiffeisen Webshop GmbH & Co. KG. The online shop was opened in September with around 5,000 articles relating to gardening, house and home, pets, equestrian sport as well as textiles and shoes.

- September saw the opening of the online shop in Münster with around 5,000 articles relating to gardening, house and home, pets, equestrian sport, as well as textiles and shoes.
It is being run jointly by AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG and local Raiffeisen cooperatives. The group of shareholders has since increased by two to 35 cooperatives. All important decisions are taken jointly in the shareholders' committee.
The online shop is a second sales channel in addition to the high-street Raiffeisen markets that AGRAVIS and its cooperative partners run successfully. "This is not a cannibalization of high-street sales, but an addition to them", says Roer-Link in respect of the close link between the two channels. The new platform, he adds, makes it possible to reach new target groups that have not shopped at Raiffeisen so far. For example, customers that do their shopping exclusively online. It was now also possible, he continued, to use the established range of goods based on strong own labels to appeal to people in regions that are more urban in nature and do not have high-street Raiffeisen markets.
The online shop has the same products as the local Raiffeisen markets at identical prices. "With the rider that the range in the online shop is currently still smaller than in the local markets", says Nina Bültbrune, Marketing Manager at Webshop GmbH. But this gap is gradually getting smaller and smaller. Nina Bültbrune stated that pet and equestrian sport goods, amongst others, had been added since the online shop started three months ago. And a very recent product expansion relates to biofuels. "We are now also selling wood pellets", says Nina Bültbrune. Customers can order RPellets, which is the product name within the Raiffeisen Group, in 15 kilogram bags.
The web shop team is working systematically at increasing access figures and orders on the online platform. "We are on the right track", says Christoph Roer-Link, optimistic about the future.
